Prepare Yourself!

"I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come." (Psalm 71:16‭-‬18 KJV)

As I was driving home one night, I found myself riding alongside a passenger train. (Which made it really difficult to concentrate on the road because I love trains, everything from the movement/motion all the way down to its sound). And as we were cruising along, I noticed that it would blow it's horn [in what some consider an obnoxious way, but I rather enjoy it] as it was approaching a railroad crossing (where people might be)...as to say, "Hey! Clear the way! I'm coming through!" And if you know anything about trains, their presence is heard, felt, and seen. The bright lights around the gate and crossing were flashing as to say, "Prepare yourself!" And the train would carry on through without a worry in the world establishing a presence and certainly leaving behind something to be remembered. Hmm. I like that.

That's how I have stepped into this new year... as a more complete me... in God, of course. So make sure you're looking and listening closely...expecting (not necessarily directed at me per say, but look and listen for God). He is making His presence known maybe through me, maybe someone else you know, maybe you. See the lights, hear the boisterous blow, and take heed "Hey! Clear the way! He's coming through! Prepare yourself!" Don't let God pass you by.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

"And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." (Exodus 3:13‭-‬14)

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." (John 8:58)

And so in the spirit of Thomas (the train) with the Lord's Spirit propelling me forward, "I think I can; I think I can; I think I can!" because I believe God is and that He can. Even when I feel like I can't and it feels as though the engine may give at any moment, "I think I can; I think I can; I think I can!" knowing that it's not by my own power or strength but through God's powerful Spirit working in and through me. "I think I can! I think I can! I think I can!" knowing God can and will!

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13)

"Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (Isaiah 40:28‭-‬31)

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

In the name of Jesus, that's the Spirit I'm going forth and conquering in...the Holy Spirit! #powerup #ithinkican #iknowGodcan
